Fishing the Colorado River should be on everyone’s bucket list. Whether you’re a walk/wade fisherman or prefer float-fishing, this river has it all!
Water Temperature: Low 40’s
14 Day Forecast: Look for sporadic hatches of midges. The fish are beginning to move into their winter lies!
Tips and Other Information: The Colorado River is fishing fair right now with the low flows. Fishing has been slow in the mornings, but improves mid-day when the midges come off. Egg-midge combos have been the best rig as of late. There have been a few risers in the slower pools and tailouts as of late.
Effective Patterns: #18-20 Buckskins, #24 Black Beauties, #18-20 Mercury Pheasant Tail, #18 Hot Tail Flash Egg, # 20-22 Chocolate Foam Wing Emerger, #20-22 Sparkle Wing RS 2, #20-22 Sparkle Dun, and #24-26 Parachute Adams
Notes: There are several moose in the area so keep your wits about you at all times! These animals are dangerous and unpredictable so keep an eye out for them!
