CLASSES

Fly fishing in lakes often require different tactics and strategies as opposed to fly fishing rivers. Lakes bring a different set of challenges that anglers need to understand in order to be successful. These challenges often revolve around the variables in fishing – water temperatures, weather, entomology, etc. Our Lake Fly Fishing 101 is the perfect class to learn all about how these variables influence the feeding behavior of trout. This class is designed to teach the nuances of fly fishing in lakes, and is a must for those anglers that are getting into stillwater fly fishing!

The BQA partnered with both Outcast Sporting Gear and Syndicate Fly Fishing to make this class the best it could be. All students in this class will be provided a float tube, fins, and all the safety gear required from Outcast Sporting Gear. These are top of the line float tubes that provide a comfortable, safe outing on the lake. Syndicate Fly Fishing has provided fly rods for all students to use that are perfect for fishing lakes. This will enable each student to fish floating, intermediate and full sinking lines. It’s important to not only learn to how fish these lines properly, but also understand when to use each line and the purpose behind the line. All of this gear is provided in the cost of the class.

All Lake Fly Fishing 101 classes will take place at Wellington Lake. This is a private lake just an hour outside of Denver. Wellington is one of the more scenic lakes around and provides world class fishing.
