Fly Fishing In Punta Allen, Mexico
At the Palometa Club
Picture yourself wading the many flats of Ascension Bay, just you and your guide, looking for the nervous water or even better, the tail of the infamous permit. Tarpon, bonefish, snook, barracuda, triggerfish, jacks… what could be better than seeing all of them in one day, for six days?
The Palometa Club is located in Punta Allen, Mexico on the Yucatan Peninsula, about 3 hours south of Cancun. The Sian Kaan Biosphere contains 1.3 million acres of pristine tropical jungle, Mayan history and some of the best flats fishing the Caribbean has to offer.
Owners, Dick and Kaye Cameron have assembled the best crew of local guides in the area to bring you a 1:1 guide to angler ratio. That means 2 experienced guides and 2 anglers per boat. While fishing from the boat, the guides work as team, but when fishing on foot, each angler gets their own guide to ensure there are no missed fishing opportunities.
The two story lodge was built in 2005 with the angler in mind. Each room has 2 beds with plenty of storage for gear. Walk out of the front door and you are on the beach where you and your guides will start and end each day of fishing. After fishing, enjoy complimentary margaritas at “Kaye’s Bar,” family style dining on homemade meals and relaxing on the beach or in the air-conditioned lodge.
