Wild trout in one of the world’s most dramatic landscapes.
Join Pat and Kim Dorsey for a week in southern Chile, where glacier-fed rivers, turquoise water and rugged mountain scenery surround some of Patagonia’s most memorable trout fishing. Based at Patagonia Baker Lodge, the group will explore the Rio Baker, Rio Cochrane, nearby lakes, lagoons and smaller waters as conditions dictate.
The Fishing
A week built around variety.
The waters surrounding Patagonia Baker Lodge offer a mix of float fishing, walk-and-wade opportunities, sight fishing and stillwater action. Wild browns and rainbows are the primary quarry, with genuine opportunities to encounter trout over 20 inches.
Rio Cochrane
Exceptionally clear water creates exciting sight-fishing opportunities for large brown trout that can often be spotted before the cast is made.
Lakes & Small Water
Nearby lakes, lagoons and smaller streams broaden the week, including cruising trout, surface eats and intimate spring-creek-style presentations.
Patagonia Baker Lodge
A remarkable place to come home to each evening.
The lodge sits directly on the Baker River and accommodates only 12 anglers, creating an intimate atmosphere with personal service. Double-occupancy rooms include private baths, while large windows frame the surrounding river and mountains.
After fishing, unwind in the riverside hot tub, gather in the lounge or spend time at the fly-tying area. Meals feature Patagonian cuisine, local seafood and meats, Chilean wine and classic cocktails such as the Pisco Sour.
