Meet the Blue Quill Team

Tony Wiersgalla

Shop Manager

Tony Wiersgalla is one of the familiar faces that makes The Blue Quill Angler feel like a neighborhood fly shop, even as we serve anglers across the country. His knowledge, reliability, and easy rapport with customers make him one of the company's most important customer-facing assets.

About Tony

Originally from Wisconsin, Tony brings a welcoming Midwestern personality and a straightforward approach to the shop. He has built lasting relationships with Blue Quill customers through years of friendly, knowledgeable service and a genuine interest in helping anglers enjoy their time on the water.

Many of our regular customers are greeted by name when they walk through the door. That personal connection is an important part of what distinguishes Blue Quill from a large, anonymous retailer.

At The Blue Quill

As Shop Manager, Tony coordinates staff schedules and helps keep the retail floor organized, responsive, and ready to serve customers. He spends each day greeting anglers, answering questions, solving problems, and helping people choose equipment that fits the way they fish.

Tony's approach is simple: listen first, give honest advice, and make sure each customer feels confident in their decisions. Whether someone is selecting a first fly rod, replacing a trusted piece of equipment, or stopping by to talk fishing, Tony makes the experience personal.

Beyond the Shop

When Tony is not helping customers in the shop or spending time on the water, he can often be found wandering Colorado's forests in search of shed antlers once carried by elk and deer. When the season is right, he also enjoys hunting for morel mushrooms. Both pursuits reflect the same patience, curiosity, and appreciation for the outdoors that Tony brings to fly fishing and to Blue Quill.

The best fly-shop service begins with knowing your customers. Tony helps make Blue Quill a place where anglers are recognized, listened to, and given advice they can trust.
