Youth Fly Fishing
Academy.
Three days of learning, tying, casting, and chasing that next great moment on the water—with Grace and Faith, “Twins on the Fly,” and our senior Blue Quill Angler guides.
Only 8 anglers. Room to learn. Space to grow.
For the kid who can’t stop talking about fishing
Turn that spark
into a lifelong passion.
Some kids see a river and immediately wonder what’s swimming in it. This academy is for them.
The Blue Quill Angler Youth Fly Fishing Academy brings that curiosity to life over three days through hands-on instruction, fly tying, and time on the water. With just 8 anglers per academy, there’s room for questions, practice, and the personal attention that helps young anglers build confidence.
We’re bringing together the energy of two inspiring young anglers and the experience of our most senior guides for a summer adventure we can’t wait to share.

Young anglers. Inspiring mentors.
Led by passion.
Backed by experience.
We’re excited to welcome Grace and Faith—known as “Twins on the Fly” and ambassadors for Flycraft—as the leaders of our youth academy sessions. Their enthusiasm for fly fishing is contagious, and their knowledge and dedication reach well beyond their years.
Grace loves the excitement of streamer fishing, while Faith enjoys the finesse of dry flies. They also tie their own flies, bringing a hands-on connection to the sport that fits right into the academy experience.
For kids who share that same excitement, learning alongside these young anglers makes the experience especially meaningful.
Grace and Faith will lead the classes with supervision from our most senior Blue Quill Angler guides.
A word from Pat Dorsey
“I saw something very special in these young ladies the first time I saw them casting for rising trout on the San Juan River. We are blessed to have them lead our youth academy.”

New skills.
A fly they tied.
A moment to remember.
On the final day, we’ll head to Shawnee Meadows to put it all together. Anglers will take their casting, rigging, knot tying, and fly tying skills to the water, with a fish in the net and a big smile as the goal.
