I've been fishing with Chris for several years. We mostly do the canyon. He's great and we always have a blast. He knows the canyon well. The team at BQA is helpful and friendly too.

I can’t say enough good things about our trip with Chris. Chris did a great job helping my wife with the basics of fly fishing and at the same time, he was able to coach me and improved my angling abilities. Not to mention he knew where the fish were and we had a awesome day!

We had a fantastic time fishing with Chris and Fred! We caught some cool fish, shared plenty of laughs, and truly just enjoyed being on the river together. We will be back again soon!

We had a great day of fishing a Rawhide Ranch with Chris. I've gone with Chris several times and he never disappoints! This time, I took 2 of my longstanding clients on an appreciation trip. Chris got us all on fish quickly, and it continued throughout the day. The clients kept saying how much fun they were having, and that they never had such a good day fishing. We'll definitely be back!

Chris guided my son Hudson and I last week and was absolutely fantastic! It was my son's first time fishing on the river. He had attended several of the Blue Quill clinics. Chris was patient with him, engaging, and was able to get Hudson to respond to instructions and enjoy his day. He landed quite a few fish and is still talking about what an amazing day it was!

Fished Cheeseman Canyon last week with Chris. One of my best days on the river ever! Chris is great to be around--a really good person.

Chris is an excellent guide. My son and I wanted to learn how to fish Cheeseman Canyon and Chris delivered. We caught fish and Chris talked all day about the technical fishing needed to be successful in the canyon. Great day and great company.

We have been out with Chris multiple times. Colorado, cheesman and some private waters. He is m exceptional guide. Always puts us on fish. Works tirelessly. Instructive but not overbearing Let’s you fish the way you fished your whole life, but it adds tips to improve So many guides want you to change to the way they like you to do things : From Rod position , How you hold your hands, how you mend etc. makes for a miserable day. But he’s appropriately instructive has improved my casting tremendously. He’s a ton of fun. Fish with the guys all over the United States. He’s one of the best

We had a day of fishing with Chris in Deckers. I’ve been on many guide trips and Chris is easily one of the best guides I’ve had. Why? He knows the water, he knows where the fish are, he provided his own flies and always set up our rig for us. He was also there to net the fish every time. He also brought a hardy lunch for us. He is an excellent and positive teach so not only did I land 13 fish in Deckers (and lost just as many), I learned a lot so when I go back I’m more prepared. And for anyone that’s fished Deckers, 13 is a pretty big number.

I had a super day at Deckers with Chris. The river was crowded as usual, but Chris always found great spots away from other anglers, and we caught a bunch of fish. Chris was great; always cheerful and entertaining. He let me fish, but he always had useful advice and direction, some subtle and some not, that make for a top day. Blue Quill has excellent guides, and Chris is one of the best.

This was my third trip out with The Blue Quill Angler shop, but my Dad's first. Chris really made a memorable trip for my Dad. Chris was great explaining the water and how to fish several spots, he was patient with my Dad as a first timer and had him on fish all day. It was another great experience, and I can't wait to head out again with Chris.

Ten trips with Chris this year with our neighbor friend and my wife. Chris is super patient and a true professional. I have fished all over the US and Canada and Chris is the best guide I’ve used by far. Ten trips next year for sure!

Chris did a great job! He's very knowledgeable and put us on fish right away. It's very clear that he has a passion not just for fishing but for taking people fishing. In my estimation, that's the mark of a great guide.

Chris took myself and a friend on a 1/2 day trip to Deckers in late September. I've been fly fishing for about a year in Texas (no trout experience) and my friend is a fly fishing novice. I can't speak highly enough about Chris' singular focus on each of us maximizing our in-river experience. His patience and encouragement were just what we needed. His ability at sight fishing was outstanding allowing us to focus on areas where he knew we'd have our best chance for success. I came away with technique tips that I can apply even to my TX fishing. I'll definitely be planning another trip with Chris next year when I'm in the area visiting family.

Day Two of an annual guided fishing trip with BQA was spent with Chris S in Cheesman Canyon. We hiked very high into the canyon and Chris was on his game. We saw a lot fish, set on a lot of fish and landed many fish. All of the fish were worthy of a quick picture. Chris is an awesome person. Spending time with him on a river is a great opportunity to learn fly fishing tactics and and his personality and communication skills make the whole experience a pleasure. Fished with Chris for the eighth time this year. Best guide I ve ever been with. Extremely patient and very instructive. Caught lots of trout in a very technical River. One more trip at the end of October. Always a great day on the water with Chris.

First I would like to say that Blue Quill is a top notch companyi. We had a day planned with Pat but we got snowed out and had to reschedule. He suggested Chris for the time that we had to reschedule our trip because that was the only time we had. Really had a great time. Hard to think how it could have been better. Went with several work colleagues and last minute asked if they could accommodate my 83 year old father in law. He is in good shape but still required extra help which Chris went above and beyond in providing. Everyone had a great day.

My daughter and I had a fantastic day with Chris S and Kiefer in Cheesman Canyon. This was the first time she went fly fishing and Chris extra time with her on casting and teaching. This was my first fly fishing trip in CO and learned a lot as well. We caught some large and beautiful trout. This trip exceeded my expectations and can t wait to go fishing with BQA again. Our group of 7 had a great day of fishing with Pat, Chris and John. They definitely lived up to their reputations. We were a group of mostly beginners, and they were great teachers. We caught a lot of fish, and we can t wait to do it again!
