There’s no easy way to say this. It is with great sadness that we announce that our dear friend and colleague, Kerry Caraghar, passed away on March 6, 2025.

To simply state that Kerry will be missed is a vast understatement. Kerry made fly fishing better – and life for that matter. A proud dad and husband, Kerry lived his life sharing and teaching his passion while setting the bar for being a professional. His infectious smile and personality would make even a stranger feel like a close friend. Kerry brought the best out of people by just being himself – his genuine, caring, loving, funny, story-telling self. Oh man are Kerry’s stories going to be sorely missed. We’re grateful for those days sitting along the river, drinking a Coors Banquet, or two, and laughing nonstop to the seemingly endless stories.

The legacy Kerry leaves behind is one we would all strive for. It’s a legacy built on being a professional and doing things the right way. A legacy built on being a leader and being one of the best fly fishing instructors in the country. A legacy built on being one of the most humble, caring and loving people around. A legacy built on being a true friend and the best mentor to many.

But most importantly, Kerry leaves a legacy built on being an extremely proud dad to Clare and husband to Carol. We’re going to miss you, Kerry. Your legacy lives on through all of us.
