Meet the Blue Quill Team
Chris Prusak
Fly Fishing Guide
A Colorado native whose connection to fly fishing began at an early age, Chris Prusak brings a lifetime of experience on familiar Colorado waters and a genuine curiosity about trout, insects, and the rivers that shape them.
About Chris
Chris grew up in Colorado and was introduced to fishing by his dad. Some of his earliest days on the water were spent on lakes around South Denver with a worm and bobber, but trips to rivers such as the South Platte, Blue, Gunnison, and Taylor quickly opened the door to fly fishing.
As he got older, that early interest became a lasting passion. Chris has fished throughout Colorado and has continued to deepen his understanding of the state's rivers, insect life, and trout behavior along the way.
At The Blue Quill
Chris brings the perspective of a lifelong Colorado angler to the Blue Quill guide team. His approach is rooted in observation, adaptability, and a desire to help guests understand what is happening in the water rather than simply going through the motions.
He is constantly learning and adjusting—paying attention to bugs, trout behavior, water conditions, and the small details that can turn an ordinary day into a productive one.
A Lifelong Colorado Connection
For Chris, fly fishing is closely tied to the places where he grew up. Rivers like the South Platte, Blue, Gunnison, and Taylor are not simply destinations—they are part of a lifelong connection to Colorado and to the family experiences that first introduced him to the sport.
Fishing With Chris
Chris believes a good day on the river is about more than the final fish count. He enjoys helping anglers make sense of the water, recognize what trout are responding to, and make the small adjustments that improve presentation and confidence.
Whether working with a newer angler or someone with years of experience, his goal is to create a day that is productive, relaxed, and connected to the river itself.
