Picked up some Krystal Flash from Blue Quill Anglers and used it to tie a variation of a Purple Wing emerger for a recent trip to the Lower Mountain Fork. It added just enough visibility and trigger without overpowering the fly.
What stood out most is how a small amount of flash made a noticeable difference—fish were able to track the fly easily, especially in lower light, but it still kept a slim, natural profile in the water.
The material itself is easy to work with and holds up well after multiple fish. It’s one of those small additions that can really elevate a simple pattern.
Definitely something I’ll keep stocked for tying emergers going forward.
