Our signature beginner course combines classroom learning with a full day on the river so students can move from concepts to real-world application.
The course begins with a Thursday evening classroom session at our Evergreen shop and continues the following Sunday with hands-on instruction on the river.
Classes & Clinics
From first casts to specialized techniques, Blue Quill instruction is designed to be practical, personal and immediately useful on the water.
Six hours of focused instruction covering leader construction, rigging, fly selection, reading water and practical Euro-nymphing technique. Clinics are intentionally small for hands-on coaching.
A fun, one-day introduction for kids ages 8–13. Students learn casting, trout basics, feeding behavior and how to catch fish on a fly rod before putting their skills to work on the water.

A two-hour beginner class at our Evergreen shop covering fundamental tools, materials and techniques. Private one-on-one sessions can also be arranged for advanced patterns or special requests.
