Morning Classroom Session

Start with Patrick Tennyson at the Blue Quill Angler fly shop for a practical introduction to Rocky Mountain aquatic insects, seasonal hatches, habitat requirements, and fly pattern selection.

Afternoon River Session

Head to a local river to collect and identify aquatic insects in real stream environments and compare them to proven fly patterns.

Meet Patrick Tennyson

Patrick brings together more than 35 years in environmental education, advanced knowledge of freshwater aquatic entomology, and over 45 years as an avid fly fisherman.

He is the former long-time President and CEO of Butterfly Pavilion in Westminster, Colorado and has presented fly fishing entomology programs for fly shops and major shows across the country.

Patrick is also a former  professional fly-fishing guide, currently sponsored by Simms Fly Fishing and Umpqua Feather Merchants, and is a proud member of the Blue Quill Angler team.
