Intro to Fly Fishing

Whether you’re brand new to fly fishing or looking to build a strong foundation, our Intro to Fly Fishing Course is designed to set you up for success on the water. This two-session beginner fly fishing class includes a Thursday evening classroom session at our Evergreen shop, followed by a day on the river the following Sunday — giving you both the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to become a confident, independent angler.

We keep our classes small, with a maximum of six students and two professional instructors on the river, ensuring personalized guidance and one-on-one attention throughout the day. By the end of the course, you’ll understand essential equipment, knots, rigging, reading water, casting fundamentals, fly selection, and how to approach a river with confidence. Our goal is simple: when you leave, you’ll have the skills to fish on your own and enjoy Colorado’s incredible rivers for years to come.

All premium equipment is provided — no gear purchase necessary. Students fish with Sage fly rods, while Simms and Orvis waders and boots are included for comfort and performance on the water. Each angler also has access to a fully stocked Umpqua pack for the day, complete with tools and on-water essentials, and receives a printed course book to take home for continued learning.

Sign up today to secure your spot in one of the best intro to fly fishing classes in the Denver/Evergreen, Colorado area!
