Hen Vs. Streamer Rooster Capes

The feathers differ between streamer hen capes and rooster capes. Rooster streamer capes produce long, more slender feathers. These are perfect for wrapping hackle or using for tails on streamers. Hen capes, on the other hand, produce shorter feathers that are wider than the feathers from a rooster. Hen capes have feathers that are great for wings on dry flies, collars for nymphs and streamers, while also providing great feathers for streamers.
