Join hosts Pat and Kim Dorsey on a trip to Southern Chile!
Join Pat & Kim Dorsey for an unforgettable fly fishing adventure in the heart of Chilean Patagonia. This trip takes anglers to the remote waters of southern Chile, where turquoise rivers, wild trout, and breathtaking landscapes create one of the most unique fly fishing experiences in the world. Based at Patagonia Baker Lodge, anglers will spend a week exploring legendary waters like the Rio Baker and Rio Cochrane, along with nearby lakes and small freestone streams. These waters hold strong populations of wild brown and rainbow trout, many exceeding 20 inches.
The waters surrounding Patagonia Baker Lodge offer a remarkable variety of fisheries throughout the week. Anglers will enjoy float trips and walk-and-wade fishing on the legendary Rio Baker, as well as exciting sight-fishing opportunities on the Rio Cochrane where large brown trout can often be spotted and stalked in clear water. The region also features beautiful lakes and lagoons where cruising trout provide thrilling surface takes near the boat, along with additional small rivers and spring-creek style waters depending on conditions. Fishing techniques vary throughout the trip and often include large attractor dry flies and terrestrials, streamers for aggressive brown trout, and nymphing when conditions call for it. The primary species are wild brown and rainbow trout, with opportunities to encounter truly large fish during the week.

Your home for the week is the comfortable and scenic Patagonia Baker Lodge, located directly on the banks of the Baker River. The lodge accommodates just 12 anglers, creating a relaxed and intimate atmosphere where guests receive exceptional service and personal attention throughout their stay. Comfortable double-occupancy rooms with private baths provide a welcoming place to unwind, while the lodge’s large windows showcase stunning views of glacier-covered mountains and the turquoise waters of the Baker River. After a day on the water, anglers can relax in the riverside hot tub, gather in the lounge, or spend time at the fly tying area preparing for the next day’s fishing.
One of the highlights of the lodge experience is the outstanding hospitality from the staff and guides, who take great pride in making each guest feel at home. The professional guide team provides expert knowledge of the surrounding rivers and lakes, ensuring anglers enjoy the best fishing opportunities each day. Dining at the lodge is also a memorable part of the experience, with meals featuring locally sourced Patagonian cuisine including fresh seafood, lamb, beef, and other regional specialties. Paired with excellent Chilean wines and traditional cocktails like the classic Pisco Sour, evenings at the lodge are the perfect way to relax, share stories from the river, and prepare for the next day’s adventure.
